Hon. Shri Shivajirao (Dada) Pandit is the founder of Jaibhavani Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, established with the firm conviction that education is the most effective means of social transformation. He was born on 10 October 1936 in Mauj village of Beed taluka. He completed his primary education at Maratha High School, Aurangabad, and his higher secondary education at Government College, Aurangabad. He went on to complete his graduation (B.A.) from S.B. College, Aurangabad.
Shri Shivajirao Pandit entered public life at an early stage and rendered significant service through various responsible positions. He served as Chairman of the Georai Panchayat Samiti from 1962 to 1972 and later as President of the Beed Zilla Parishad from 1972 to 1978. He represented the region as a Member of the Legislative Assembly from 1978 to 1995 and served as a Minister in the Maharashtra State Cabinet during 1991–1992.
Alongside his political career, he made substantial contributions to cooperative and rural development in Beed district. He laid the foundation for several cooperative institutions, including Jai Bhavani Cooperative Sugar Factory, Mauli Cotton Mill, Bhavani Urban Cooperative Bank, the Agricultural Produce Market Committee, and several other cooperative societies aimed at strengthening the rural economy.
A committed educationist and social thinker, Shri Shivajirao (Dada) Pandit was also associated with the Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Aurangabad. His enduring legacy lies in the establishment of Jaibhavani Shikshan Prasarak Mandal and Jagdamba Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, which continue to serve as instruments of educational empowerment for students from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
